My leadership journey has taken me from high school through college and into my early career—each step teaching me the value of clear communication, active listening, and genuine teamwork. Here’s a look at the experiences that have helped shape my approach to leadership:
President, Monroe County Young Democrats
Today, I have the privilege of leading a vibrant group of emerging leaders as President of the Monroe County Young Democrats. I’m passionate about creating spaces where new ideas thrive and where young people can connect, learn, and drive change in our local political landscape. Organizing events, mentoring peers, and fostering open dialogue are at the heart of what I do, and every day I’m inspired by the energy and commitment of our community.
Office Manager/Intern Coordinator, Monroe County Democratic Committee
After graduating from American University, I joined the Monroe County Democratic Committee. In my role as Office Manager/Intern Coordinator, I managed the day-to-day office operations and ran the internship program—hiring and mentoring around 35 interns. Balancing the committee’s strategic priorities with the interns’ ambitions was a rewarding challenge. I worked hard to ensure that while interns mastered essential tasks like constituent services and administrative duties, they also had opportunities to contribute to larger campaign goals. This experience sharpened my skills in program management and strategic planning, and it reinforced my belief in the power of teamwork.
Manager on Duty, American University Recreation and Fitness
While at American University, I served as Manager on Duty at the Recreation and Fitness Center. Overseeing a rotating team of student staff, I learned firsthand how important it is to listen to your team, address concerns as they arise, and keep the whole operation running smoothly. This role taught me to be proactive and adaptable—qualities that continue to serve me well in every professional setting.
Unit Head, Camp Seneca Lake
At Camp Seneca Lake, I was entrusted with the responsibility of leading 15 staff members and managing the daily care of 50 campers during a four-month session. This experience wasn’t just about supervision—it was about setting clear expectations, providing the right support, and building a team that could tackle any challenge together. The hands-on leadership and problem-solving skills I developed there remain a cornerstone of my management style.
USY Leadership Experience, United Synagogue Youth
My leadership journey began back in high school with United Synagogue Youth (USY), where I jumped in to organize events and coordinate volunteer efforts. Those early experiences instilled in me a deep commitment to community engagement and laid the groundwork for my continued passion for public service and leadership.
